After 15-20 seconds (Seems like a lifetime) you will get either STB Memory error or a new screen with a progress bar showing the download.

If your lucky enough to get so far then you will be asked to confirm your wish to flash.

I've tried both ways, either going back or restarting the loader. Just cant remember which one I had done when it worked.

      Hi

Thanks for that, Im on the verge of giving up have tried various different loaders and firmware.

Not sure if com port is actually workng as I get that message even when box is not powered up although when I have the pins in different order on mainboard I dont get that it just seems to hang.

      Regards

I think the red light is a hardware error warning.

            Hi

Seems to be some sort of activity with the com port cos when I remove the null cable it doesnt give me the "done" message and also I used software called stresscontrol that is showing data in and out while box is connected and no data when box not connected.

Also while running stresscontrol tried running loader and came back with message that it couldnt open com port. That could just be the fact that it couldnt open lappie com port as it was allready in use.

Might be timing or might be hardware. Will be putting it away soon never to be seen again.

            Regards

I think smashed pins on the cam connector would cause woes.Try disconnecting the front panel.Look for solder blobs and shorts.Anything that plugs in other than the power supply to mainboard should be disconnected then try loading firmware again.

                Hi

Tried that too but no joy. This box aint gonna come alive again.

Things are made harder by the fact that dont know the history of the box. The previous owner has tampered and butchered it so theres no knowing what the reason was initially.

So now time to give up, thanks for all the help guys.

                Regards

It may have originally been an easy fix but the butcher job really ruined it.
