just wondering has anyone experience with both these boxes and which do they prefer.I know specs are almost identical, s12 has external psu which seems to be better than the 2 pin s10 with no earth

early versions of s12 overheat. The newer ones are ok. In terms of operating, they are both exactly the same. s12 has better looks, and better resale value.

I didn't like the S12 at all, looks like a toy, made out of plastic, works the same as any other Openbox S9-S11, but S12 has less output options and a different kind of connector for the RS232 serial cable.

what i liked was the white control, looks pretty, and another thing i liked was the price, i could get one for almost 50 US dollars (80 dollars when bought at an stablished openbox online store in the US that call themselves official openbox dealers but what i didn't like is they send you the openbox with a password so you can't access the network options and they refuse to give you the password and threaten to denounce people as pirates).
