quick question.....always used AJs list for months and months with no probs ever, until 30/5/15 list...i tried to put it on my skybox f3 just as i have always done in the past via usb only this time my box got stuck on "load" (bricked i believe its called) so i sent the box away to be fixed (fix all on fleabay or your money back) and evrythings working fantastic again, only the channel list is very different to before and its peeing me off how different it all appears on screen, plus channels in each section are all jumbled up..........how do i know it is safe for me to use AJs great channel lists again without another problem???
This box was only fixed on saturday gone and latest firmware put on with a channel list.....has the f3 firmware been updated recently and does anyone know if putting the 30/05 list onto old firmware was the cause of my box being bricked ??
(think i mentioned channel list often enough to warrant post being in this thread )

think you need to look elsewhere as this is a thread for about a channel list, your problem is something we cannot talk about but if you read about you will find all the answers. you could check ethernet cable is firmly pushed home and restart the box..
Also if you did a factory reset (which some folk do) there's a good chance you could of wiped off the bits you need; which we canrt talk about.

Was this password to enter the menu? what was you up to before it started asking for a pass? i take it you tried the 0000 or 8888 etc.

Thanks for the reply, I'll be sure not to use the stick I used last time as it could be that, I'll also remember to remove the stick safely before pulling it out.

I've looked into that RS232 cable to do it myself before sending it back but I've read you have to buy a specific one else it wouldn't work. Plus I'm not even sure I have a RS232 port on my PC.

Can you recommend a certain one that works with the Openbox F5S?

    Thanks again!

I never delete the old list first and I've never had any trouble. Seems to be triggered by just a random bad flash or issue with the usb stick. Some people brick a couple boxes in a row using the same stick, formatting and transferring a fresh file seems to fix it. I always make sure to safely eject the usb from the computer when updating too.

If you're worried about bricking the box again, maybe just buy an rs232 cable and learn to unbrick it yourself, it's fairly easy.

When uploading a new channel list is it essential to delete the old channels first? I ask because when I updated my channels the other week the box died and was stuck on 'load'. I didn't delete the old channels beforehand. Thankfully my eBay seller agreed to take it back and repair/replace it.

Does anyone know what causes that bug? Some old Openbox I had years ago never had this problem, would just put the new list on a USB and update it, now I'm frightened to do that now just in case it breaks again.

Why are my favourites not named correctly?

If you're using my channel list for the first time, the favourites will likely not be in order. To put them in order, go into the menu and "reset to factory settings" and then reboot. Your other settings shouldn't be effected but please backup/"dump to usb" your CCcam.cfg file first just in case anything goes wrong
