Openbox S9 - suddenly, no longer networkable??

I've been using an Openbox S9 for the past 12 months without issue. However, when I tried it tonight, it simply can't seem to reach the remote location.

I've rebooted the router. I've rebooted the box countless times. I'm concerned that there is some physical defect that means it can't make its way out onto the interweb.

Are there any known issues of this nature with the S9? Is it possible that it could somehow be a firmware issue (despite the fact the same firmware has been used for the past 12 months)??

I am currently watching BBC without issue. However, it's the networking end of the box thats at issue.

Anyone any leads on where I could start to troubleshoot?

I have just flashed the most recent firmware (anonymous) listed here on dk for the s9. Reconfigured the networkable bits - but still no dice.

Has anyone had the ethernet element of this box become defective???

have you tried a different network cable in it.
also make sure its fully inserted both ends.
try a different port on the router

watch out for flashing latest f/w if your box is a clone

Had no reason to doubt existing cable - but swapped it out there nonetheless - same result.

Not something at my discretion. However, has worked on that port for the longest of times. Also, if I try on a dreambox, there's no issue.

thanks for the warning - but no issue - used the clone safe firmware - albeit that I believe my box to be original ( I never got round to checking - but not a cause for concern right now).

          Issue Resolved

I switched from the static ip setup I had on it for the past 12 months - and tried dhcp - and its back up and running.

I guess it motivated me to upgrade the firmware - so that's no harm either. Must update channel list now also...
