My S10 does the same. Must be constant power to the USB port, even in standby.

get an extension lead for a usb so it's easier to plug in and unplug, you can plug it in when you need it then without having to faff about trying to reach the back of the box.
If it isn't broke, don't try fixin it..!!!

On my S9 the HD power is cut when the box is in standby. It would sure annoy the hell out of me if the Hard Disk remained powered when on standby...

                depends on the external case.
Mine stays spinning even when the usb cable is disconnected
                Other cases would spin down.

If you speaking about hdd to record stuff can you tell how long you can record? Because i record to usb and it can do up to 1gig then it starts recording new file up to one gig... Is it how it should be or can i extend it?

Nope, the recording is split into 1gb chunks, thats the way it does it... Playback on Openbox will be seamless..

Thanks. And yes i doesn't even display files it recorded itself (little strage) but if you're watching it on pc no problem at all for me .ts files run on every player you just put them in order, especially the files recorded from hd channel the quality just nuts... Even better than on tv (maybe because my tv doesn't support hd) and i like that i doesn't matter what display settings you chosen (im on 5**p) it still will record highest input as possible

you have to scroll thru the mediaplayer menu with the #1 button to get at them, unless it was a drastic change in firmware revs from when they were recorded.
