    Recording issues

    Hi guys

I have searched in depth of these problems and can't seem to find a solution.

    1) I'm not sure your aware that there are known issues when recording HD to usb flash drive or hdd due to the data write speeds. There error message that appears is "device is to slow to record". I have tried both a 16gb flash usb drive & a Western digital 1TB both with the same results. Is there an actual fix for this? Could it be a firmware issue?

    2) I have been told that recording SD video (non-HD) channels should work fine, but I'm also experiencing a problem here: I have just set a timer to record an 1 hour program, but it appears to have only recorded 10 mins of it and I've noticed that the channel becomes locked after the program has finished (the channel is working, but I can't stop the record or change a channel) the only solution is to power off and on the openbox.

I have had the s11 box for a week now, its brilliant when it works. So far, not really impressed with the recording functions.

    Thanks

    1. Certain memory sticks will be too slow for HD recording, thats not a fault of Openbox. Most memory sticks should be perfectly capable of recording SD channels.. Your Hard Disk should be fine for HD recording, and most certainly capable of SD recording.

    2. Thats not normal operation at all..

Your Openbox seems to not be working too well, I would try different firmware on it and see what happens..

Just to let everyone know that I have returned my Openbox s11 and bought a CRYPTOBOX 400HD and so far I'm impressed with it, much better than the Openbox. The remote is easy to use, the ability to record one channel and watch another, menu display is much better, improved additional functions, no problem with recording to a usb flash drive, better quality etc...

Highly recommend and they cost around the same price as Openboxes.
