Which is best? F3 Skybox or one of the Openboxes?

I am debating getting a f3 skybox for a friend, who isnt too fussed about recording or epg etc, just wants a working box.

What do people think of the f3 skybox and how does it compare to the other Open boxes?

Or would you not go near any and stick with a dm500s?

all these different model sky/openboxes are all much of a muchness, no major differences between them. saying that, theyre ok boxes for the price, not as a main box, but as a bedroom box etc.. treat them for what they are, dont expect too much and they sound

openbox s11 update to skybox

Hi
Bought an openbox s11 off a good seller on Ebay. Has the latest firmware and channel bouqet set on it. Anyway when it boots up it says skybox. And when i asked he said its virtually the same box just updated software. Do love mine .Thoough. It is a bit basic on the epg and menu. But does the trick and i,m a very happy customer. So would say depending on price go for either...

Stick with openbox, skybox f3 has only limited support at the moment and the remote is rubbish, openbox has lots of support and if you have any problems, you can bet your bottom dollar you will find the answer on here, in 6 months you might get a different answer but for now stick with the openboxes!

Yeah if you're buying it now, get the skybox f3, seems to be the latest one that's popular.
Theyre all the same and work the same too. Given a choice id get the f3 becuase it is the latest one and supports wifi.

Which is the latest / best recent openbox to buy? I read a lot about S9 S10 S11, S16 models etc but ebay selling X3. Is this latest box and ok for newbie to try?

Skybox is Openbox, Openbox is Skybox...

Skybox F3 & M3 are the latest models, they use a totally different firmware to all the other older Skybox/Openbox models.. The significant difference with F3 & M3 over the old boxes is that they support USB Wifi dongle, and they have a slicker Menu system ..

Somebody said the remote on the F3 is rubbish. It actually has all the same buttons & functions as the older Openbox/Skybox Remotes, its just slimmer/smaller and laid out differently.. Either type of remote works all Openbox/Skybox models... So if you prefer the old clunky style remote you can buy one on ebay and it will work with the new boxes..

Buy either an F3 or an M3, they both work the same, the M3 is the teeny weeny box with an external power adaptor..

I suppose the v1 remote is ok,if you have small hands, cos the buttons hardly stick out , as for the box itself, openbox still has a lot more support than the new boxes, though as always it down to personal choice.
