S11 Channel setup?using darcu5 softkey by beta testing noob

    Hi all,

    Where to begin!

i have an open box S11 that was set up on my home network and preset with the usual astra channels as of today they all stopped working so after reading up on here i am going to attempt to add :

    1. a new channel list (thanks to tw87 for your channel list)
    2. the latest firmware(thanks to Hooley for the updated files)
    3. some soft keys (many thanks darcu5 for the tutorial)

Will i need to factory reset the box? as it has a double set of channels on it already and i don't want to add to them i'd like a fresh list .

i have formatted the usb pen as per the tutorial and have the image file and channel list on it .............the ccam file i'm not so sure about i have made a blank file but am not clear what i have to put in it.

i am aware that using the "c" word (sea lion etc) is not allowed .. what i want to know is if i go ahead and update the firmware and the channel list leaving the cccam file blank and then use darku5 soft cam tutorial will i be able to get other channels apart from the standard fta stuff .

Eventally i'd like my old rupert murdoch channels back dosn't every one but i'd like to learn how to do it first

i would just like a bit of noob clarification on the subject before i proceed... i probably can't make it any worse but i'm persistant an could easily make an ars@ out of it.

hope this makes sense to anyone who reads it

I will be attempting this on monday so any feedback or tips appreciated

please feel free to amend where needed

    regards

sometimes no help seems to be all the help you need

thanks again to all the guys who provided the tutorials

and to those who provided the aforementioned no help at all
