    Skybox F3 coaxial audio out

Hi Guys can anyone tell me what connector to use on the back of the skybox f3 for coaxial audio out, spec says it should have one but can only see left and right stereo out.

    Many Thanks

Is there a specific setting or firmware required to get 5.1 audio over HDMI on the F3? I have mine connected to my Sony receiver but only getting 2.1

If I press the 'Audio' button on the remote on a HD channel it shows a Dolby Digital feed (eng (660)[Dolby D]) but pressing left/right only cycles between Stereo/Mono/Left/Right output options?

      Firmware 3601HD_08_05_2012_0781

      Any help greatly appreciated.

If you press audio on remote - press the up/down arrows to select eng dolby. If you press right or left, make sure its left on stereo. I generally get the info/display from my amp remote as the audio even on hd channels sometimes says 2 channel stereo.

Thanks, I've tried all that but my amp is still showing only 2.1 when using the 'direct' input mode. Of course I can get multi channel sound by asking the amp to mix it into the various analog Dolby ProLogic / DTS Neo6 modes, but this isn't TRUE digital surround.

With other HDMI sources (HTPC/PS3) that provide 5.1 digital output (Dolby Digital / DTS) my amp automatically picks up the digital 5.1 signal irrespective of the current input mode. So wondering whether the F3 can actually send a 5.1 DIGITAL signal over HDMI?

The F3 defo does as I am running it into an onkyo amp. I would check your hdmi lead is 1.3 - 1.5 version and check the digital input source is set to hdmi or blank source in your amps settings

Thanks for your input jhonnyb, I finally got it sorted. For anyone else having this problem I solved it by changing the setting: setting:

System Setup -> TV System -> Digital Audio Out

              from LPCM to BS

No idea what BS stands for but seems this allows the Dolby Digital signal to pass over HDMI instead of down-mixing to Stereo LPCM 48

AH well you got there in the end. I believe BS is bitstream,
