SkyBox F3 + USB powered portable HD?

    Hi all,

I have a Buffalo 500GB portable USB drive. it's the type that's powered through USB rather than an external power adapter. I was using it as PVR storage on my Panasonic Viera plasma fine, but after reformatting to FAT32 and plugging into the F3 it just clicks away and isn't recognized.

Are there any USB powered drives (other than flash) that work, or do we need a mains powered one?

    cheers.

I connected a 80GB samsung portable HDD and mine seems to work fine. I also have a samsung story station 1.5 TB..will connect it and let you know but that one has its own power source..!

    Hope this helps.
The quickest way to double your money is to fold it over and put it back in your pocket..
