tomarrow i am goin to get my openbox back because today i was stupid and i restored factory setting which ment i lost my pay channels gift 12 month. i would prefer not to make the same mistake tomarrow so please can u guys tell me how to back up everythig before upgrding channel list so i dont delete my files which are my channels and gift 12 months. i hope u guys can help me out here. thanks

When you get ur new box.
first of all take a usb drive and format it to FAT32.
Stick it in the usb port and go to tools and choose option dump by usb. then select .abs files and select and upgrade. Tick all green boxes and burn flash. If it goes fine it will ask you to press info..do that and there it should have a ok along all the files. Then go back to .abs files and scroll right and u will come to misc files. do the same procedure...i.e select all and burn flash.
You should have all the backup files in the usb now...either save them on ur pc or keep that usb drive safe.
No offence mate but all these things are in the threads and stickies...read up a bit as I have seen u starting threads for some very simple questions answers to which are quite easy to find.
If you are dyslexic or have some other disability and need extra assistance with these things then pls let us know so we all here can do a better job explaining things to you.

You do the same procedure but in tools choose upgrade by usb..instead of dump by usb. Go in upgrade by usb and on select and upgrade...in .abs files select all files..then burn flash...info button then should give you an ok on all files. then reboot the box...then same thing but choose misc files and this is were you upload the channel list..thats the TP_Prog.dbs file..and burm flash...if all goes well...your new channel list should up and running...

actually it's certain revs of firmware that have that option disabled.
They started with hiding the details on the cccam menu screen then there was no option to save the cccam.cfg
I would back up the flash via rs232,so you know you have the cccam.cfg details,which are in the last 64k of flash.
They started hiding the details with the nov 2011 firmware I think.Comment

one option is to open the latest firmware you want to load with mst firmware tool and extract the bootloader block and maincode data.Then use rs232 and loader 2.0.0f to upgrade just the bootloader and maincode.This will leave your channel list and "gifts" intact but the firmware will be updated.You must load both the bootloader block and maincode data,or you will be posting in the receiver stuck on threads.Loader 2.0.0f loader is a must,that is the only rev that lets you upgrade
