openbox s16 boot loop please help

hi i have a openbox s16 that come in from china and working very fine for my use, but i updated to version 2.2 English and from there power up and stay in menu for 30 seconds and reboot and so loop.

I flashing some old firmwares via rs232 and the error persist, any help or idea? or anyone have the original factory firmware?

the only mode to fix was flashing the factory firmware what i obtain from the supplier

And this receiver isn?t compatible with other openbox s16 firmwares as the posted in the forum, i bought this receiver from shenzen intellhk factory from china and the firmware posted in forum are from hlt888 and not compatibles among themselves.

Yes and i have it now, but it?s curious that there are several types of openbox s16 incompatible with each, all made in China

yes you'll have to flash through comport and serial method..or it wont work

Hello, Slugworth is correct, you will need the original software from your box (Dumpfile) or ask the person you purchased it from to forward you a copy of the S16 software, experience tells me you'll be lucky from the boxes supplier.
To re-install you will have to install via RS232 port using suitable software. I know because i have done similat to my box, it would not load newcamd so i looked around for suitable software, i then found similar *.ABS dumps which looped. I also tried another sat box which used the ali3606 chip the box was a "2000" this bricked it so i just re-installed Dump file. there is a moral to this ..create a dump file before you mess because the dump file will be for your box

how to Create a Dump File for openbox S16

Please go to DOWNLOADS you will find software which will allow you to create a DUMP file for your Openbox S16 you will need to unzip it before use. not only can you create your own dumpfile you can upload a dump file to your openbox S16 using this software
in the instructions i omited to say you should be able to locate your dump to a USB stick and install using your boxes USB if not you can use the software upgrade tool for openbox S16
simply go to Downloads>Openbox>Tools
