    Skybox M3 Router issues

I have a skybox m3 and when connected says scrambled on the router there is a red light on the ethernet port?

I have turned dhcp on and off but still red light and scambled. What i noticed if i open port in router for outward connections it works but still red light.
Then once i close port it stops.

Very weird as i shouldn't have to open ports etc as openbox was working fine with ports closed.

Is this a software bug im using SKYBOX F3 3601HD CMT 12042708C5 firmware.

Anyone got same problems with their M3?

Did you have to forward port for it to work. I tried newest firmware and same issue very strange

Yes i just deleted the ports i had forwarded seems to make no difference. So disregard port thing.
My seems to be working fine but still got red light on router for that ethernet port. Must be firmware

Do you have your dhcp turned on, On the box?

Are you sure these lights are red & not amber/orange? Reason i ask is that some 1Gb capable routers (that are quite common now) change the LED indicator colour depending on the link speed:

                Green = 1Gbps, Amber = 100 Mbps.

The Skyboxes, being cheap boxes only have a 10/100 network interface, which would show an amber light when connected to a 1Gbps router.

To confuse matters further, the 'amber' colour may vary due to different LEDs used by different manufacturers/models or even batches, and some do look closer red.

                  That makes sense

That makes sense i always thought red/Amber meant bad and green good. So i now i know my connection is fine. Just need to find out why all my channels scramble randomly. I?m using Mgcamd client would make a difference or would CCcam be better for this box

Cheers you knocked the nail on the head there. Mines running on a netgear router. Was thinking there was a problem or something. All sorted now.

Will these F3/M3 work on any router due to the fact its 10/100 network interface?

Yes, no problem. the gigabit ethernet spec is 100% backwards compatible with 10/100 Mb.

so is it the router that makes it 10 rather than 100? what do i do to make it 100?

                        Thanks
