    Skybox F3 epg help

    Hi,

I have my F3 all setup and it seems to be working well. However, one thing that is a bit annoying is navigating through the epg and channels.

Does anyone know how to go through the epg (now and next) without actually changing the channel you are currently watching? If I press up or down on the remote, it changes the channel instead of scanning through the EPG.

I'm use to Sky's, whereby you press up and down, find the channel you want and press "Select" to view it. On the F3, the up and down buttons change the channel, rather than allowing you to go through the EPG and then press "OK" to view the channel.

Is there anyway to fix this? Or is it just the way the F3 and Openbox's work?

    Cheers!

been using it for a while now...but thats the way it is..!!
The quickest way to double your money is to fold it over and put it back in your pocket..

Doh! Oh well, thanks for confirming that.

Been looking at switching to a Vu+ Solo maybe. Does anyone know if its EPG/guide behaves the same as the SkyBox's (in the sense I mentioned above? I understand its customizable).

Its hard to really see whats on or coming on as there isn't a quick way to scan through the now/next on channels. You have to constantly switch channels to see whats on or coming on. Can be a bit of a pain!

Yes, this is so annoying that I might get rid of it,

Will any newer firmware help this, or does openbox have an epg?

They both have a basic now and next, which in most cases you will have to change channel to see whats on now and next, once you have pressed the EPG button, if you want something better EPG wise its a case of spending more money on a better box, like dm800se or Vu, then there is a lot more choice available when its come to EPG and a host of other things as well, but requires a little more knowledge and both are commonly talked about as a hobby box, as they require input every now. If you have time and money both boxes are well worth having and there are some top guys on here who will point you in the right direction, when you get stuck!
