Sorry, dont know of any cheap boxes that have the same limited cheap functionality as Skybox/Openbox but also come with an internal hard disk, but I also dont see what benefit having an internal disk would provide.. Surely the benefit is having it external, thus making ripping recordings to Computer (maybe burning to DVD) a simple task..
