    Skybox F3 Recording Scrambled Channels

When using the timer recording I have found recording scrambled channels, mostly Sky Sports, to be very hit and miss. Most of the time the recording doesn't work. I have tried recording freesat channels, mostly BBC, and they record fine with no issues.

Is this a limitation of the box or am I doing something wrong?

Its not a limitation of the box..

Unfortunately "Hit and miss" isnt much of a problem description, if you give a bit more info about the problem, what happens, what you've tried, then somebody may be able to better help you.

Like I say, BBC channels record.....box boots up, records, switches off. And.playback is fine
Sky sports doesn't record....box doesn't turn on and record

I have a Skybox F3 and found no issues with the recording abilities. Mind you I havent recorded Sports Channels before, I will check this out later today and report back my findings.

Just to check you are trying to record to an external drive and there are no problems with the drive itself?

          Thanks for the reply.

Yes its an external powered hard drive, recognised by the f3 no problems, plays my mkv files perfect, and records and playback of BBC fine.

I'm using latest firmware from manufacturer website.

Sorry to hijack the thread but i have come across problems when trying to set the timer as well. I wanted to record a programe at 11pm last night, So i pulled up the epg, hit timer. Set the channel i wanted to record and the time. Made sure i put it to record and pressed ok. Once i pressed ok it said invalid input and wouldnt set it up to record. I got fed up and turned it off. Also when i was in the timer trying to set it up the channel i was on which was working perfect, would then say scrambled.......
            Anyone any Ideas?

            Thanks
