Skybox F3

Hi to all of you.
Ive just received my first openbox Skybox F3.
The EPG is empty so would anyone be kind enough to tell me where to to start.
Hopefully its genuine.
it says Main chip:ALI 3601 HD
OEM ID:0001

how do you upgrade firmware, is it as simple as loading the abs file on to a FAT usb drive or more difficult.

First thing, why do you think you need to upgrade the firmware? If theres nothing wrong with it and it works fine then dont mess with changing firmware...

If by "EPG empty" you mean you've got no channels, you need to select what satellite your dish is pointing at and scan for them...

If however you mean the Program Guide telling you what on next, in a few hours, tomorrow etc ... unfortunately on 28.2e Sky channels full epg doesnt work, you only get a now and next guide.... Thats just how it is...

You need to be in the Menu which says Network Settings, make sure Network Local Settings is NOT highlighted and then press 6666 on the remote. The hidden menu will appear.

cheers mate sorted that, is there a way to clear favourites so it only shows the ones ive renamed and get rid of favourites 15, 16 etc

Looking for guidance have been browsing for a while now ,there are that many dif boxes I was wondering what best in the openbox /Skybox range and what bits do i need to go with it ie net connect and the likes.. I was thinking F3

mate i really like the skybox f3, very easy to use and lovely picture, for the price its a bargain.

does anyone know if theres anyway of changing epg so it lets you look through channels rather than just change itself

At the moment there is no way to change the EPG as it is dependent upon the type of receiver. If you would like a full 7 day EPG you can look at Blade BM7000S or VU+ Duo.

I was looking for this recently. Couldn't find anything for around 50-60 price of these boxes. Entry to the '7 day EPG club' seems to start from around 150 with Blade, Spiderbox or Linux E2 boxes.
