    Faulty F3

Just got a skybox f3 today and having two problems with it. The cccam.cfg updated fine, channels clearing etc. Updated the bouquet.

The main problem is when I turn a channel on. Slot 1: Initializing comes up on screen. It won't go away.

Secondly I've put multiple firmware files for the f3 on the USB drive and each one says file mismatch, when I tried to upload.

Any help is greatly appreciated cheers.

you could try taking the lid off and unplugging the card reader(if possible) and then re-flashing the box with 8-8-2012 f/w. regards mdt

You mean screwing it open ? Would that not void the warranty.

Also I can't flash as its saying file mismatch.

I would try downloading the firmware again and make sure you're not trying to flash a compressed file.

You can flash by RS232 as well as USB, that may fix your problems.

I have a friend who has the same problem. They have been away for a few weeks, and now when they switch on their TV & Openbox S11, they get this very same mesage: slot 1 initialising. Before they went away the box was working fine. Any ideas? Will it need a reflash?

          Thanks for any suggestions.

I'd flash via serial. I need an adapter though. As I just have a standard 9 pin RS232 cable.

By the time one comes from ebay I'd be just as better of sending it back to them.

I've got a null modem cable, so maybe I should reflash using that, although there is no reason a normal flash via USB shouldn't work?
