Monoblock on a motorised dish? Thats not right... Sounds like you need to start from scratch with your dish installation...

I installed it I assume it's right! as I phoned a installer to check the motor and dish alignment and he drove the motor to hotbird @13 degrees and the signal was on 77/80 degrees but only 10% quality, he said was on the right lines and to persiver with it,so I got a new receiver as someone here said me receiver was old technomate tm 5500 daci, so I got a openbox x3 and on that I'm only getting 45% signal and 10% quality I've rang someone to align it proper but I want to see if I can do it myself first.Comment

I think its best that you start from scratch and follow this guide to do it properly...
If you phoned the installer, how could he check it was aligned properly if he wasnt there, its impossible...
So yea, start from scratch... The most important thing is to get the motor and dish mounted on a sturdy pole (scaffold on T&K brackets is best) and it has to be perfectly plumb level, if its not you'll never get satellites across the skys arc... You then aim the motor and dish south, not towards 13e, not towards 28.2e, just south, 0 degreess... Then when youve done that you set your box to use USALS motor setting, add your local Lognitude & Lattitude into your box setting, add the Thor satellite position into your box, 0.8w, set your LNB settings universal, check usals is enabled, and then drive your motor to Thor... Then you tweak and fiddle the dish until you get Channels on Thor perfectly.. Once thats done you shouldnt need to touch the dish ever again, it should now drive to all other satellite locations without problem.. But you got to make sure your pole is Plumb level...
The guide should see you through...Last edited by nibblitz; 16 September, 2012, 17:40.Comment
