Why my new Skybox M3 doesn't start when connected to the dish ?

I have just bought a new Skybox M3.When I connect the sat dish cable in the lnb input of the decoder, It starts increment from 1 till 100 and restarts increment again and again.However when the cable is not connected it starts normally. My concern is my Skybox faulty or I have a fault in the lnb or discq switch?

check there is no short in the cable/f-connector.. regards mdt

My M3 did exactly that, so I used a different Power Adaptor (a spare netgear router one I had) and then my M3 has been fine ever since.. So for me it was the Power Adaptor that was duff.. If you have another adaptor with same connector and outputting 12v and 1.5a min then give that a go...

I usually see this problem because of a short in the satellite coax cable. Check both ends and make sure none of the outer copper braid is touching the inner copper core of the cable.
