My SEAGATE USB 3 hard drive is not working with open box s11

Hi..I just bought a SEAGATE USB 3 500 gb mini (usb powered) hard drive to go with my S11 openbox..the drive shows power light on when i connect it to the box but the box does not detect it...I know open box work with NTFS and USB 3 are backward compatiable too...what this problem could be?..do i need to update firmware on my open box? Please help..

Format it to fat32 first, connect to box and format again within the menu system of the box.

Hi..Thank you for your replies...The box detects ntfs too..coz i tested my usb into both file systems ntfs and fat32...now after leaving it connected for two days, all of my paid chennels are not working..any suggestions??
