    Synchronizing STBs Reset Target

Can anyone help me in this situation?

I'm trying to recover my Openbox S11 with an RS232 female to female cable and an adapter to use on my laptop but I keep getting the Synchronizing STBs Reset Target thing.

I've put the com port to 1 and I've checked that the pins are matching up.

    What am i doing wrong?

Is it a Null Modem Cable you're using, or is it Straight through Serial Cable... It needs to be a Null Modem Cable...

Eh, you originally said you were using a "RS232 female to female cable and an adapter" and now you're saying you're using a USB to Seral Null Cable... What cable are you using and having problem with?

The picture in the eBay listing is different

I got a female to female null modem cable and a male null modem to USB

make sure you are using the correct version of loader.
For dead s9/s10/s11/s12 you use v2.0.0c,the version where you choose the file to load on the 1st screen. Then start the loading process and turn the receiver on.Make sure you always choose include bootloader.

That's what happened when I updated the firmware and it said on my TV that ''This box is a clone'' or something on the lines of that.

How will I be able to fix it?

all my dead ones were completely dead, not dim at all
The loader will also dump files to pc,that is how I saw the damage done.
are you sure you don't have the -- on display, that is yet another problem.
The anonymousx firmware of aug 1st kills genuine receivers with that result.
Maybe find somebody with a pc that has a real com port?

It's definitely an 8 but it is very very dim. I can only see it in the dark.

Can anyone else help me out?
