    Scrambled when phone rings

Right I have only just noticed this, i have a skybox f3 when the phone rings my channels get scrambled but if answer the channels are back to normal.

Is this a normal thing? or is it possible for my adapter where i plug in my phone line and internet connection to be faulty?.

My net doesn't go off or anything when phone rings just seems very weird.

    Cheers,

Do you have IDSL filters on all sockets being used.

Yea, only have one phone socket but the filter is like 10 years old which could be the problem

Hi, are you using "DECT" cordless phones? if so this could be your problem. I had coutless engineers at my house from s*y who tried to fix a probelm i had with receiving channels, one replace the lnb, one replaced the cableing from dish to box and the rest had no idea, until one guy came out, noticed i had a cordless phone beside the box, unplugged it and the scrambled channels i couldnt receive suddenly appeared. Turned out it was interference from the cordless phone as it was on a similar frequency to something inside the satellite receiver. Wonder if yours is a similar problem? sorry, im not much of a techie but hope this helps.

I thought about that to be honest i think thats what it is, i have cordless phones. It doesnt always scramble when rings sometimes just quick freeze and just happened while writing this post .

Is there anyway to adjust the frequency? If not its only a small problem i guess

i never found a way to adjust the frequency, i moved the "transmitter" base box of the cordless phone to another room and everything has been fine since. The closer the cordless phone base was to the satellite receiver, then the worse the scrambling and no signal problem was.

Hope you get sorted, glad to have been of some help.
