Can I connect my openbox without broadband or wifi?

Hi Guys, I hope I'm not going over old ground.
I have just moved house and have no broadband for at least 6 weeks (BT are really useless). There are no good wifi signals.
I can connect my laptop with an internet dongle. Is it possible to transfer this connections to my openbox s11. I have tried to make a network bridge, but it doesn't seem to work. If anyone can help I will be very grateful. I can't imagen 6 weeks of having to talk with the wife, please help!!!!

It should work, but only for FTA channels.

I can recommend 2 options, firstly if you have a smartphone (iphone 4 etc) use the personal hotspot option to create a wifi hotspot then log on from openbox to that. Alternatively if you have a windows 7 pc you can use a clever little program called virtual router Virtual Router - Wifi Hot Spot for Windows 7 / 2008 R2
Once you are connected from laptop to your internet dongle connection then run this little free program to share the connection as a hotspot, works for me!

Sorry to be a nob, but how do I connect (logon) my Openbox S11 to a wifi network? I only have a Lan/Ethernet port on the back and I don't know any other way to connect.

You can only connect an S11 to a network via its ethernet port... You could maybe use a wifi bridge, or home plugs, but you'll still be connecting the box via its ethernet port...

flash a old router with dd wrt, that turns a router to a wifi bridge to connect the network part to a wireless signal

With mobile hotspot or even using dongles I have never been able to connect to any servers using o2. Using 3 mobile has never been a problem. But in my experience, o2 connects ok and gives an ip address but won't connect to CCcam

I've just managed to do this with S11 and XP with my dongle on 3 network.
I downloaded the program at connectify.me
You can then try the pro version for a week.
I then set the "Share Over and Sharing Mode" to my ethernet port and connected my laptop to the openbox via a normal ethernet cable and it works.
