Openbox S16

Hi I have a new Openbox S16 I switched it on and told it I wanted Astra 28.2 East exited and the screen went blue and I can not change it at all. HELP PLEASE

I had a similar problem I needed to set TV output in stb to 1080p in the menu on box to do this I needed to connect box via its AV ports hope this helps .

Also if after sly uk HD channels I don't think this box works with those channels but haven't looked in a while at updated firmwares

Sounds like a firmware\sw issue, or missing file or similar. I am new to F3 but have worked with Jerrold-Pace- on digital stbs (theres a blast from the past) and Dbox etc a long time ago.

Have you backed the box up and factory defaulted it?

And perhaps after that you could try new IMG files (if theyre around).....

No Mate I have not backed it up switched it on for the first time it was set to Chinese satilites so I put in Astra 28.2 East pressed exit and it blue screened.

Im new to F3 but certainly not the stb scene. Am I right in guessing when you say blue screen that the stb has froze or wont boot up?

If so, what is the LED display showing at that time?

Hi Frogger the LED is saying noCH I have not yet tried the AV leads will try them later when I get five.

Done a wee search and got this.

no ch means no channel list
load a channel list or scan one

You may need to read this though. You "may" need to.

No Mate had a good look at it last night and set it up using AV leads and it worked just fine. Thanks for you help all the same some times its the simple one that get us.

If it works fine using AV lead the format is set to one thats not compatable with your tv.

Put the HD lead back and try pressing the V.Format button on the remote.

Press it once and wait till the box display changes. Keep trying till you get a pic. Make sure your tv is set to the right HD source.
