    skyboy f3 hd loop out?

    hi,

what is the 'loop' connection for on the skybox f3 hd i assume it if a output for the box but the socket fitting doesnt fit a standard aerial with it is like a connection used for the sat dish, if i get a adapter can i run a output to another tv from the loop?

    thanks.

The loop out is just a link through the box from the lnb input. It can be used on another sat box but not at the same time. One must be switched off/standby for the other to work.

The loop is not a tv signal
it is a satellite data stream, DON'T CONNECT IT TO YOUR TV

ok so i guess the only option is getting a hdmi y splitter and then feeding the cable upstairs..

Using a basic cheap Y splitter wont work, they're only for sending 2 sources into a single hdmi socket.. You would need a proper 1x2 HDMI Splitter, and you'll also need to find a solution for using remote control on the other TV...

Does it have to be HD on the other TV? Why not use a Wireless AV sender like I mentioned in your other thread? Or you could get a Wireless HDMI Sender if you must have HD, but they are pricey... But the advantage of using a wireless sender is they also allow for remote control..

hi nibblitz, i will have to use a wireless hdmi sender if i do that way as there is no scart connection on the box, if i used a hdmi cable is there no such thing as a hdmi magic eye?

              thanks.

You dont need scart to be able to use a Wireless AV Sender, you would use the Yellow Composite Video output and the Red/White Audio output on your box going into the AV Sender...

If you use HDMI cable then the only way I can think of that will allow you to remote control is by using a Wireless IR Extender, somthing like this...
[ame="http://www.amazon.co.uk/Marmitek-PowerMid-XL-infrared-extender/dp/B000GIXH42/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1350503027&sr=8-1"]Marmitek PowerMid XL infrared extender set: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics[/ame]

Cost of HDMI Splitter, about 25 quid
Cost of long HDMI Cable 5 to 10 quid
Cost of Remote Extender about 25 quid

Its gonna cost you about the same money as a decent 5.8ghz AV Sender, but going with HDMI will mean you get the HD quality on the other telly, so its worth doing if you can easilly route a HDMI cable through your walls/ceiling...

Dont even consider a 2.4ghz AV Sender, theyre shyte...

In my opinion Wireless HDMI Senders are still too expensive really..

thanks nibb great advice there think iv finally made a decision...

                  how about this -

                  2 Port Hdmi Splitter Switch Amplifier 3D HDTV 1x2 1080P | eBay

                  &

Nikkai 5GHz Wireless HDMI Video Sender Kit - 1080p HD with IR/IRDA Remote Relay | eBay

then i would be transmitting a hd signal and also able to change channel from the other room?

Yep, them bits together should do the job very nicely for you... Not too bad a price for that sender... You might not get as good as quality as running a long HDMI cable, because I believe those HDMI senders use compression on the signal to squeeze it through 5.8ghz, so you might see artifacts on fast moving scenes, but I it should still be heaps better than Composite Video..

Might be a good idea to google for some reviews about that Sender before you part with your cash...

Apparently the quality can have some artifacts but overall apparently ok, if its really bad il just return it and get a cable.

Iv read a wireless modem can affect signal quality, my modem is in the living room and cannot be moved will this have much of a negative effect?

Nah, its the cheaper 2.4ghz Senders that can suffer from interference, the 5.8ghz models are usually ok as hardly anyother household gadgets operate on that frequency...

you need another cable from the satdish box to box connection dont work right you cannot split a lnb feed into two boxes(thats all loop does) each needs their own feed.
