copying this from the other thread on this issue.

HUGE thanks to brendan on this forum who told me that a batch file needed to be run before doing the firmware upgrade

it's back...after all i have been through this weekend with it i can't believe it

i did the batch file...upgraded to stock firmware...which was not very good...all channels on channel list in un-named folders...no section to check cams
so...i did it all again upgrading to the latest firmware oct 2012....and that seems spot on and its got the channel list pefect...i did have to update some channels.....bbc news, bbc three, bbc four, vintage tv, sky news......blind scan was no bother and all seems perfect now.

            i am using this guide...

first i get - "synchronising STBs ... please reset target!"
then after its back on - "Set stb memory error"
            click back to try again.

i have tried 3 different firmwares......i dont know what firmware was originally on it.

            woe is me.
Make sure your Com port is set correctly on your PC before selecting it on Eeprom upgrade and make sure your Female connections are tight in the box and Comp.

I "think" the settings are as follows.

            Bits Per Sec: 115200

            Data Bits: 8

            Parity: Even

            Stop Bits: 1

            Flow Control: None

You turn the box ON with the switch at the back when you see Synchronising STBs. Not on and Off or vice versa. Select Bootloader as well.

            Use this http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...cmt_skybox.rar from Here

            Post results....
