Help needed with Protek 9760HD IP

Hi all..Im a newbie. Just bought myself a protek 9760HD IP with a DiSEqC 1m motorised dish working on one LNB on advice from a fellow user. I live in the South West France......latitude 45.942 degrees north and longitude 0.479 degrees east.
Everything is set up, I am receiving hotbird...13.0 degrees east, Astra 1...19.2 east and Astra 2 and Eurobird 1...28.2 east.
At present I have around 3000 TV and radio stations 75% scrambled.....may need some help in receiving gifts...
Any advice would be appreciated preferably idiot proof.

you need to patch your box with relevent firmware then connect it to a broadband router. do a search on this forum for all you need,regareds mdt

Protek

Hi citybluey,

As MDT said, you need a patch.
You'l find it in post (Unique ID for Protek---).
to find it, go up to search on this page.
type in (Bbigfoot) you'l find the post their.
Goto page two (2) under my post (Bbigfoot) is the patch
you need, its in MDT post.

Once you have Downloaded it, Plugin A USB stick in your PC.
load the patch into USB stick.
Goto protek turn it off. Plug in USB stick, turn on at the back your Protek to start Update.

I have a Protek 9760 too. once your Ethenet is connected
With your routers ID (Find it on the bottom of router) it
all done for you. new channels the lot.

i am a dummy

Hi again bigfoot...done as u instructed. found the patch...downloaded it...tried to open it...with no luck. ive installed firefox and 7 zip...still no luck.
We r on windows 7
ethernet cable all ready but need to download this patch now...hope u can give more advice.
ps do i put the number inoff the router, after opening the file,onto the box.

Hi citybluey,

Download (Winrar) any version, if its a trial version
when it ask's you to (Please purchase) just press (Close).

Now that you have the tool to open the Protek rar File.
Your File will now be a Red book on top of a blue and
green book.
Double cilck on the file (9760HD-V1.12.rar).
Now it's open goto the file under the
yellow folder (9760HD-V1-12.gnx) left click and
hold down, then drag and drop it onto your desktop.

Now plug in your fat32 USB stick, check its letter
Its usualy (I), now right click on the desktop 9760hd fille. Go up to (Send To) and send it to your USB stick.
Will only take seconds to load.

Now turn off your protek, plugin the USB stick, Turn on and it will say (New software) I think
you drop the left hand flap (Front) on the Protek and press one of the button to start the upload.
dont matter if you press the wrong one.

It will now be uploading new files.
It will the say loading new (Bouquets).
Its OK then Blue to view your bouquets.
