Openbox X3 problem after serial flash

    Hi Guys,

I updated my Openbox X3 with new firmware using usb and it worked fine. Then I installed my old TP_Prog file again and rebooted and the display just stuck at LOAD. I think a bad USB may have caused it. So I installed the firmware again using RS232 and then I used a different USB to install the TP_Prog and it worked fine. Now though, none of my c lines work, they just say offline. I have checked the codes on a friends box and they all work fine there. I have checked the DCHP is on and the ethernet cable is working and double checked that it is set up for ethernet and not wifi. So for some reason the box is now just not connecting after the serial flash. I have since flashed back to my original firmware and it is exactly the same.

Anyone any ideas, it has me stumped???

I replaced the cccam info after each new firmware update. Will try the ping now, thanks.

I tried wifi and it found the available wireless connections but timedout when trying to connect to mine.

Hi, i pinged the network and it is not picking the box up. The box IP is 192.168.1.103 in the network settings. Do you know why this might be? I have tried another box in its place using all the same cables and it works perfectly.

Thanks but I think now that the firmware may not be responsibe since i'm not finding the box on the network.

Is there any flashing of the lights by the ethernet plug?

Your router give the box its IP if the box is set to DHCP

Yes, the ethernet lights are flashing on the back of the box.

Have you tried rebooting the router with the box switched on.

Sounds like you have found your router and entered the pass key in the network manager.

give the box a static ip on the same range as the router.
if the router is say 192.168.2.1 then assign the box an i.p. of 192.168.2.44 (assuming nothing else on the network has already that i.p. and the router hasn't been told to have a smaller scope, under 44).....then reboot and try pinging 192.168.2.44

Hi, done that but the ping still didn't pick it up. Think I'm just gonna have to sell them as freeview boxes.

Many of "them" are there and are they all the same with regards to the error your getting?

                          You gave up already?

It sounds like there is something silly with the box/s and giving up now would defeat the purpose.

                              @mcelmeel

How are you updating the cccam.cfg?

                              Manually or through USB?

If manually, then where a port is for example 5050, you should always put a zer0 in front of the 5050 so your entering 05050, then press OK and exit and power of stb then on with remote.

Are you checking the "Active" button when its saying Offline? When you check Active, watch-wait at least a min and check if the cline to see if it changes to login and back to offline

How many clines do you have in the cfg file?

When using a USB flash card you MUST format in FAT 32 before inserting to stb.

If it works in your mates, then the fault is in your own back yard.

Assuming you havent left your cline details on your mates box, and his stb is online while your trying to get yours working, that is.
