Skybox f3 + uk sky dish

Hi chaps, im sure this has been answered elsewhere but I wanted to ask specific questions regarding my setup. I've got a new skybox f3 which I connected to my existing sky dish (which is working with an existing sky box) but I can't get any channels even the FTA ones.

I know I need to scan, but I have a large list of satelites and am not sure which one to scan against, when I do hit scan it doesnt let me, cant remember the exact error but it wouldnt let me scan.

    Can anyone tell me

    1) If its possible to connect my existing sky dish to my skybox f3 to get FTA and should scanning 'just work' when I do this?
    2) If I can point my dish elsewhere to get other sats or is the dish too small to do so
    3) Do I need to connect a dish if I am using the other capabilities of the skybox f3 via a network
    4) There are references to a scooby firmware, is this any good or should I just use the FW from www.yojiatech.com

    Thanks for the help

I am in the same boat here. I have received my Skybox F3 HD box and I can view all the FTA channels, but none of the $ ones.

I've checked online for a dummy guide on what to do, but it seems to refer to CLINE and complicated stuff like that. There was a Youtube video on how to do things, but the interface is different too.

Any help is much appreciated (sorry if asked multiple times before)

          1. Yes, no problem, you need to scan 28.2e Eurobird/Astra
          2. Yes, no problem, you should be able to get a couple of other satellites with a sky dish...
          3. Yes you do
          4. The manufacturers firmware is perfectly fine, you dont even need to update your box at all if its working all ok...

          Have a look at www.dishpointer.com & http://en.kingofsat.net & http://www.lyngsat.com/europe.html & http://www.satbeams.com

                2) If I can point my dish elsewhere to get other sats or is the dish too small to do so (not sure mate new to this as well i'm sure u can)
                3) Do I need to connect a dish if I am using the other capabilities of the skybox f3 via a network (depends on what capabilities you r doing)
                4) There are references to a scooby firmware, is this any good or should I just use the FW from www.yojiatech.com (if the one on the box works ok leave alone)

Silly question from me don't want to sound rude... but do you have a channel list on the box ???

                Post 568

This will setup your channel list for 28E s*y (no scan needed all channels loaded auto)

My apologies if this is not what you need
