    Skybox s12 Remote Problems

    Hi

This is a brand new box thats never been opened but was bought a few months ago.

Problem is the remote works from only a couple of feet away, as soon as the distance is more than that it will not work.

Anyone had this problem before and if you did how did you fix it.

    Regards

Assuming you've got new batteries in the remote, maybe the IR receiver is not sitting in the correct position on the PCB so is not seeing too well through its little case window. Worth having a look inside your box, you might just need to bend/twist the IR receiver back into its optimum position.

cheap dead batteries? or it could need a refresh take back off and rub solder near ir bulb gently with sandpaper ,used to have to do this with dbox remotes etc in the past or if you have a solder pen job just heat up and that refreshes also..cheers micky

          Hi

Tried resoldering the points underneath the sensor on the board
and surrounding points to make sure there is no dry joint but made no difference.

From 2/3 feet the green light flashes and remote command operates the box just fine but further distance doesnt work.

Not sure what you mean by sanding ir bulb.

The red led bulb is quite faint but the green lights up fine and flashes fine when responding to remote from 2/3 feet.

          Would changing the led's help.

          Regards

                Hi

Just bumping this up to see if anyones got any fresh ideas. Anyone know where the ir sensor on this is. Think thats a bit dummy question but want it confirming.

                Regards
