    Downgrade s11 Firmware

Having looked at most topics I can see many of you referring to the same problem I have - not being able to dump the cccam.cfg file.
My box has developed a fault and I've got a replacement. The problem is I can't get to the .cfg file to see the details of my setup. And I've lost the written details.
Would any of you good folk be able to guide me through the process on how to downgrade the firmware on my S11?
I could do with step-by-step process on how I can do this.
I'm worried about losing the contents of my config file so I could really really do with all the help I can get.

firmware after oct 2011 censored the info.
You don't see any details and it won't let you dump the cccam.cfg to usb.(a dealer inspired thing)
You must take a full dump via rs232 and use mst tool to import old bootloader block and maincode block from older firmware, say aug or sept 2011.
Then once loaded back to the receiver you can see all the cccam.cfg info and dump to usb. Then you can load whatever firmware you want, since you will have the full cccam.cfg on usb stick.

        dealers hate it

        that was the s10/s12 version.
The s11 may require a rip from clone safe firmware instead.

          Thank you for your replies.
Slugworth, you are quite correct - the firmware I have is from Feb 2012. Dump of the .cfg file is blocked.
The RS232 dump you refer to, what will I need?
          rs232 cable (null modem)?
          Any computer software?
Will the full dump include contents of the cfg file?
Where can I get this "mst tool"?

Really appreciate your insight on this. Thank you.

it's all in the zip I posted.
you need a pc with a real com port, preferably winxp and a null modem cable.

              Hi Slugworth.
Just wondering if you have the zip you posted last November? I have the same issue as Curveball. How do I know if I have the correct Firmware? I also have a newly purchased S11.

The theory is to do a full dump via rs232 then get the firmware patched to an old rev that let you see/dump the cccam.cfg file to usb.The easiest way is with the mst firmware tool v0.5 and replacing the bootstrap and maincode in that dump with ones from old firmware.

                    for genuine openbox receivers.
1.use the rs232 loader to save a full data dump to pc
(select data dump instead of upgrade)
You will need a null modem cable and pc with real serial port.
2.use the mst firmware tool to import the bootloader block and maincode block to the firmware you saved.
3.write the edited firmware back to receiver.
4.you should now have the sept 2011 firmware on receiver with save cccam.cfg to usb menu enabled.
5.save cccam.cfg to usb for future use or editing.
