    skybox f3 coaxial questions

    Hi all,

I have a skybox f3 that I can connect to my sky dish. And it works fine. I also have my original sky+ HD.

Is there anyway that I can run both boxes with a splitter instead of having to connect and disconnect the coaxial cables. If I do need a splitter will it be a 6 way splitter?

The reason I want use the original box is so that can record regular TV etc.
And only use the sky box f3 for Footy, movies etc.

    Any help would be great.

Nope you cant use a splitter, you'll need to change the LNB on your dish to one that has more outputs, and then run an additional feed from it into your house...

You can use the "loop out" on the rear of the skybox f3, so take one feed from your dish and put it in the F3, loop back out to your original HD box using a lead you make yourself or you can buy one in poundworld. When your F3 is on standby your original HD box has two operating feeds but when your F3 is on your original HD box only has one operating feed as the F3 is now using that feed. I have this set up working fine, I only use the F3 for footie & movies so I still keep my original HD box for recording.

Would using the loop through still leave the original box recording while watching the other box ?
So using 2 feeds from the lnb 1 in originally other in f3 then loop connected between both boxes ? Or have I got it completely wrong

Firstly, thanks for the info. I know this thread is over 4 months old but a quick Google search for this exact query brought me here and answered my question

Just ordered a 50cm cable from eBay to do as described above. Want to access the 7 day EPG on Sky to make browsing for movies/TV shows a little easier than via the TV guide/newspaper.
