    Openbox Clone

I bought an Openbox S10 from a "reputable" dealer in the U.S. who claims they don't sell clones. Turned out it was a clone, and of course it had the "time bomb" so it crashed. With help from this forum, I was able to recover it.
But I don't understand... WHY?...would anyone sell a box with this kind of firmware? Do they really think I'm going to toss it and buy another from them??? Please explain to me the logic behind this.

Well it?s the amount of greed we go for, we look for cheap items and they most probably clone.

    How much you paid??
Tools owned: Hammer, Chisel, Crowbar, Punch, Chainsaw, Cutter and Brain!!!

Did you know People will question all the good things they hear about you but believe all the bad without a second thought.

I bought from a "reputable" vendor, and I didn't get it "cheap".. I did my research before buying- I was led to believe that I was getting an authentic Openbox, as their website stated same.
In some cases, I realize that one gets what one pays for... but what is gained by a manufacturer/vendor selling a clone with a "timebomb" in the firmware??..even if it was cheap?? This doesn't make economic sense to me, but maybe I'm missing something?

        money.
they buy a clone for probably less than $10 and sell it to you for what you paid.

a loose tuner will also give you the clone message even on a genuine s10.I have see that happen and heard about others that had a loose tuner, since it is in a socket.I would check that first.
To seat it again properly, you have to remove all the mainboard screws and pull the mainboard forward or else you will bend pins on the tuner.
