Hi guys,

I have a skybox F3. Am i right in saying i can hook a external HDD up to the USB port on this box and record ok? If yes can i record a channel i am NOT watching? or set a timer to record a channel im not watching? or do i have to have that channel on to watch?

If i cannot get it to do what i want, what is the best recording box that allows channel surfing while recording specific channels at the same time?

You can set a timer, but you'll still only be able to watch what the box is recording.

You would need a "Twin Tuner" Satellite Reciever, there's many to choose from, but they cost a lot lot more than these cheapo Skybox/Openbox receivers.

I don't have one, but from what I have read the VU+ Duo is the one to go for.

The solo2 to be released real soon looks like its gonna be the weapon of choice on this forum. Ill probably invest in one
