Got mine last week.Not had a chance to have it up and running as yet(No dish).

But where is the "spdif" input that is advertised almost every time i read a spec list ?

There isn't one on it must be a misprint you only have the ususal Phono Outputs for audio or HDMI or the Scart

apparently this means that upgrade via usb is locked and you have to do it via rs232 serial - sorry i dont know how you do that prob a more experienced member can help you but that is the reason for file mismatch error

maybe you tried to load the correct file but wrong extension MISC and abs for firmware(abs)

Hi lads for all you struggling with the f5 here is a full firmware flash,that has a channel list included,(no need to rename faves) just remember to back ups yours first and then do a factory restore before flashing, by the way what a cracking tutorial above, should be put up as a stickie!

Its all so confusing.. my head may explode I aint a techno newbie either but all this stuff is mind blowing.
Got my F5 today made me wanna cry for about an hour, sorted now though.

hi lads

i'm familiar with the dreambox 500 s and the openbox s10 . my question if my fellow members can help is this . i got a skybox f5s . i have it up and running able to watch all the sports , movies etc . but when i check on the youtube and you**** they dont work . do i have to upgrade the software to get these up and running .
the software version on the box is 3601hd-14-01-2013-0f23 .

If its not broke I wouldn't bother trying to fix it. Loads of threads about people updating for no reason then bricking the box.
If Youtube and the **** is that important then go for it but it aint worth losing our channels imho.
