    Skybox F3 motion judder

    Hello guys,

Basically I have a skybox f3. It was working perfectly up until a couple of days ago. No firmware or settings have been changed since then but now for some reason any channels that come through the skybox have motion judder i.e. when watching football the ball seems to judder when moving its not smooth. Same with sky news, the banner at the bottom doesnt move smooth, it judders. It was not having this issue up until a few days ago. I would definitely have noticed. And its definitely not my tv.

When I use my ariel and tune in to sky news via my tv's freeview the sky news banner moves smoothly but when I switch inputs to compare and watch the exact same channel via the skybox the banner judders as does sport etc. Its happening on both HD and SD channels via the skybox. i.e. the banner on both sky news and sky news HD is jerky via the skybox f3 but is perfectly smooth when I switch to freeview using my home ariel.

Also static images i.e. the sky sports news logo on the top right of the screen also vibrate up and down slightly when I use the skybox they never used to up until a few days ago. I do not experience these issues if I try and watch the same channels using another input i.e. freeview. So I know it is definitely not my TV. It must be some kind of an issue with the skybox itself. I havent done a firmware upgrade or anything and its been working perfect for a couple of months so not sure whats changed. I have even tried to change the HDMI lead but the issue is still there. The only thing I can think is that one of the settings have been changed by someone else when they were watching.

    Would appreciate any advice.

    Cheers.

    UPDATE
    -------

OK guys finally managed to fix it. After trying everything I first reset my TV's picture settings which took me ages to get right, no change, then I updated my TV's firmware, still no change, Then I updated the Skybox firmware to the latest one, still no change. Finally I tried a factory reset in the tools menu and finally the juddering stopped. I knew I wasn't imagining it! But basically this issue caused me to needlessly update my TV and the Skybox F3 firmware.

I don't know which setting it was on the skybox which caused the judder but it was definitely something on the skybox which had been changed by someone. Moral of the story is dont let anyone play around with the skybox remote as this could happen. Secondly if it happens just do a factory reset! Hopefully this thread helps others in the future if they get this annoying judder.

I had this the other day, switched the F3 off for 2 or 3 mins and then turned it back on...all sorted.

Im still getting the occasional remote not working issue, i will definitely need to update the firmware for this. Bit worried as to how, have no idea if i have a clone or not either.

realist, I bet your Skybox TV output Type setting was not correct for your TV... The setting can change if you accidentally press the Vformat button on the remote control...

Doubt its a clone mate, afaik these boxes dont have clones as they are so cheap as it is.

The new firmware is all good though been watching footy for a while no judder etc and remote responsiveness and channel switching does definitely seem a bit snappier.

Easy enough to do just download from the official web page and put on USB takes about a min. Just a bit of a hassle reloading channel lists etc.

You may be right mate, but I wont be testing it definitely was not any of the display settings which caused it anyway. Anyway back to normal now so all good. Cheers for your input.
