ive got an f5 and i think its more or less the same as the x5,if you go into menu, flick through till you come up with camds setup press ok,then cccam setup you,ll find usb upgrade in there.

There isn't an option in cams like the f5. Any one with box that knows how to do it could you let me know. Spent hours looking thru the menu and I'm 100% sure there isn't an option for USB upgrade for a DBS file? Love to be proven wrong or is there any way else i can get a DBS channel list for the X5. Thanks kind regards.

Goto systemsetup, on next screen scroll down to editchannel push right on remote control, scroll down to load DB hit ok, it should pop up with the usb drive, hit ok again then look for the list then hit ok.

Which DBS file are you using or which channel list have you successfully loaded on there?

Pretty show when I've put the DBS file on the USB stick on the root the file is not there?

It only asks for a DB file....I've not got a DB channel list file...only come across AJs channel list which is a DBS file.

I'm a noob to openbox's as I've been using Dreambox for the past four years, got this openbox quit cheap and using it in spare room. But can't get a channel list for it.

Don't like the all the channels in a mess difficult to find .

If u have the channel list file could you share it. I've looked high n low but can't find it anywhere on the Internet.

                Kind regards.

Can you save (dump) your channel list and attach it here?

Cool ill try and put it up later on 2day or early 2morrow. When I save it, it saves it as a DB(00000000).bin File if that helps?

I really appreciate you helping and reply to these messages.

                    Kind regards.

hiten at least you can save it, I can't even do that see my thread about it.

bbb_uk I still haven't tried what you suggested yet as I don't have the box here, it was a friends box that I had, he had problems connecting the box using wifi and gave it to me to see if I could get it working which I did after the firmware upgrade.

So he has the box back with him but he has run into another problem, he can't get the box to work with newcamd, it refuses to connect to the server.

When I had it it, I tried my cccam info on it and it worked no problem using wifi.

I'm using newcamd. Put the newcamd.list on the root of the USB and activated via the remote no problems.

Just after a Channel list now...cant be bothered with all the channels all over the place!!! LoL

How do I do that, don't see any option for saving the newcamd.list to usb.

                              UPDATE...

Got newcamd working, For some reason I had to put the nline info into the cccam, cfg and also put in the des key and make sure it was on newcamd.

Have tried on both wired and wifi and it connects.

That's 1 problem sorted, but I still can't save the channles db onto a flash drive.

Hiten you asked me to try and pvr record to the flash drive which I did and it worked 100%.

So there's nothing wrong with the drives.

Which is now totally baffling, I can use the USB upload the firmware to the box, plug the wifi bridge into 1 and that works and yet I can't save the channels to the USB drive using either of the ports.
