New to Skybox F3 have some questions

    Hi,

Got my Skybox F3 installed but have a few questions

    1. I have two Sky cables coming from by Sky Dish. I've used both and get a picture with both but which one should I be really using?

    2. I can't get into System Setup, it's password protected but whats the password?

    3. When watching things at 1080_60p the picture stutters, but it's fine at 1080_50p. What's causing this?

    4. Is the HDMI cable that comes with the Skybox F3 version 1.4?

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Have u tried either the usual 0000 or 1234?

You can use either of the sky cables, but given a choice I'd use the one that gave the strongest/best signal (if there is one)

Yep tried them, tried many different combinations but still no luck I need to go into the System Setup and change the audio so I get Dolby Digital through my AV.

Both the cables give the same signal, what is the 'Loop' connection for?

Just use one of them, dont connect both.

          2. I can't get into System Setup, it's password protected but whats the password?
0000, 1234, 1111, 6666 (or speak to your box supplier)

          3. When watching things at 1080_60p the picture stutters, but it's fine at 1080_50p. What's causing this?
Framerate mismatch causing stutter. UK TV broadcast are PAL 50hz at 25fps, 60 is for NTSC broadcasts 29.97fps (like in America)

          4. Is the HDMI cable that comes with the Skybox F3 version 1.4?
You dont need a 1.4 cable with a Skybox, the box has no function requiring a 1.4 cable.

Is it possible to restore defaults without it asking for password.

If possible, you should know that everything is deleted including channel list.

              UPDATE:

Just seen this thread which mentions another password you could try.

Yea, send it back to your supplier then (as he's having you on) if its not any of the factory defaults then its been set by an end user (usually done on boxes sold with gifts) Or you could try flashing it via rs232, which will factory restore it, but any gift will be lost..

That is a "speak to your supplier" issue...

The supplier will know the password. He will have set it and wants to keep it to himself so you will have to return to him for future gifts.

If you bough from fleabay open a dispute "Not as Described". After all if a password has been set it is not new.
