SKYBOX F5/F3/M3 Software-Fix 14-01-13

Favorite menus are great on this firmware but I had to go back one as it just kept randomly rebooting. Did it 4 times in one hour.

Hope they keep the favs that way but fix the reboot.

How do you check which firmwares on f3,
and do you have to keep it up to date, or
just upgrade, when things start to go wrong,

on remote,press menu,/tools,/press ok,/information,/press ok,this will tell you,main chip/oem id/peripheral unit/display mode/ memory size/software version.
my software version is dated
3601HD_31_10_2012_0B39
this version i find very stable,with no problems.
is you wish to try this version send me your e-mail addy and i wiill send you a file to imput to stb,but your box has to be a genuine f3, not a clone..

I had that one but updated the New Fav list is great but I need to test it out might go back if there are rebooting errors so far soo good though it even kept all my channels and favourites so happy enough.

Have you tried the 23rd Jan firmware, it's supposed to have fixed the reboot bug. Base firmware is called - SKYBOX_F5_F3_M3_3601HD_CMT_1301230F1C.abs it's also circulating as "Skydiver" with channel list and UK settings.

Just a note, the links to firmware and setup is in the stickys above. The hard drive will be ntfs no doubt. Connect it to a pc and format it choosing fat32 then it will work

Its a HD satellite receiver that costs peanuts and is quite good for watching TV on, to expect any additional exotic features to work flawlessly is optimistic when you consider the cheap hardware & purchase price... Its a good cheap satellite receiver, its a crap media player, dont expect it to be anything more...
