openbox s10 network not recognized on router

    hi guys
    i got a openbox s10 (clone i would guess)
i have a problem with the network
it doesnt seem to be recognized with the router
i have manually input the ip address for box and router
but what way should the ip addy be put in
should it be 192.168.001.001 or 192.168.100.100
    since the router is 192.168.1.1
    have tried every combination

    cheers in advance

If you turn DHCP on and apply it and restart the box, what is the IP address (greyed out)?

If you're set on giving your Box static IP rather than using DHCP, give your box an IP of anything after 001 (as thats the router) so like give it 192.168.001.010 , I dunno if you have to enter gateway into the box, but if you do then thats the same address as your router.

What I've done on my router is told it to use a static IP address for my s10 and also enabled DMZ (my preference not really needed) for this static IP address.

I then just turned on DHCP on the s10 as that just asks my router to supply an IP address.

This saves having to possibly set the other IP addresses.

I like using manual ip configuration, for an example I use :
              192.168.1.101 for first box
              192.168.1.102 for second box
              and so on

then for entertainment equipment im using :
              192.168.1.151 for wii
              192.168.1.152 for playon hd
              and so on

for router that used as a repeater im using :
              192.168.1.251 for router at bedroom
192.168.1.252 for router at living room
              ....

              for cctv im using :
              192.168.1.10 for avtech dvr
              192.168.1.11 for tplink ipcam 1
              ...

thats all, i like to organize my devices in categorized ip ^^.
btw for checking ip on my LAN I always using fing on android, it will save u time and sweat LoL...

another thing to add, I still use dhcp but it start at ip 192.168.1.200 so if my family come they can connect to my LAN as long as they are knew my wifi key (save them the headache for setting ip manually )

My god Binz, you're very organised with IP addresses. I just use DHCP for everything but allow DMZ on a fixed IP for my openbox.
