Have you loaded a ready made channel list onto your box?

If you have then that wipes out any and all other satellites and channels previously stored... Its quite easy to manually add other satellites from within the satellites list..

      Yes mate, i loaded aj,s list,i have a fixed dish(sly) so i suppose

Im going to be doing the same in a couple of days, is 28.2 the only satellite i will get with a fixed sky minidish anyway?

I mean if the same thing as above happens to me when i add the new channel list, were the other sats redundant anyway so therefore not even worth being there until i get a motorised dish?
        Thanks

A typical fixed Sky dish is pointing at a fixed location in the sky, 28.2e.. Theres a cluster of satellites that remain static around that location in the sky (or space if you prefer) and its from them all our UK Sky & Freesat channels come from...

So if i add ajs channel list, ill also have to re-add the "cluster" of satellites that im receiving channels from, or is 28.2e the only one i need.

I swear our dm500hd only has 2 sats on its list....28.2e and 19.something

No you wont have to add anything, 28.2e is the position in the sky that a fixed Sky dish is pointing at, it doesnt matter if theres 1 or 20 satellites floating around that position, you dont need to worry about what actual satellites are at 28.2e, your box (or rather your dish) receives whatever is being beamed down from that location up there in space...

If you have a fixed Sky Dish then a channel list like AJ's has everything you could possibly receive using your fixed Sky dish, just all sorted into a nice logical format... If you scanned the satellite yourself our dumb boxes put channels in a mixed up non logical order, its good people like AJ who spend a lot of time sorting it all out and make 'em nice and tidy for people to simply download and use....

The channel lists available like AJ's get updated often for two reasons, to make 'em a bit tidier and easier to navigate, and to adopt changes made by a broadcaster when a channels frequency changed, cause our dumb boxes dont auto update like a SkyTV digibox..
