    Frozen Skybox M3

My Skybox M3 keeps freezing so that the channels can't be changed. As you can only use the remote to do this, this is clearly a problem! I have tried a different remote, and this hasn't helped. Neither has hard resetting the box i.e. switching it off at the mains (which sometimes helps).

Any advice would be much appreciated - there's only so much Comedy Central I can handle!

    Try a different Channel List
    then
Try a different firmware (backup your original firmware before doing so)
    then
Try a different 12v 1.5a Power Adaptor with a suitably sized plug on the end..

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

The box doesn't have any buttons, and as it is not 'reading' the remote, there isn't a way to access the menu settings to update the firmware.

Remove the power, unplug the satellite cable, then connect power again (leaving satellite cable unplugged) does it now boot up ok, does the remote now work?

Nope, still no joy. I've done this a couple of times. I've been advised to get an RS232 cable but this will take a few days, so wondered if there were any alternatives.

Yea, you may well need to try flashing via RS232, but until then, try a different PSU adaptor.... So long as its 12v and at least 1.5a rated then it'll be ok to try, just to be sure its not your boxes PSU gone duff... Most Router PSU's are suitable...

Could the boxes remote sensor be at fault? Obstructed or broken even?

It's not obstructed but could very well be faulty. The seller has suggested a firmware update using the cable to connect to the pc. I've ordered the cable so will try that and see what happens,

Thank you so much for your assistance, I really appreciate you taking the time to get back to me.
