    F3 Firmware, Channel Lists, etc

Hi I am a complete Newbe in this and have just bought a Skybox F3, its set up to use my Sky Dish and everything is working fine. I like the Skybox but the menu is rubbish and the channel lists, favorites etc need tidying up/sorting out.

I have 5 files to upgrade the box with, Scooby Snacks, 3601HD SHADO and Dogs Bollox tweaked in .abs files and TP.Prog and AJs List in .dbs files

So the questions are - Whats the difference between .abs and .dbs files and are the files I have different options on the channel lists so I just upload one of them or do I need more than one file on the skybox.

    Thanks for any help

Thanks for that - just what I was looking for.

I've noticed there are Channel Lists available that get updated regularly - Why do they need to be updated?

The creators of the channel lists tweak them to improve layout and to amend any channels where the frequencies have been changed..

But do you know why you're wanting to update the firmware?

Nope , showing my ignorance. I have updated the channel lists and groups and its made a really big difference. The menu on the F3 isn't as slick as Sly but its brought it back to very usable so I'm happy now.
I just need to edit a couple of channels where the region is wrong for me - Like ITV central and I need North east.

Whats the best way to do that, is there a tutorial or is it straightforward. Thanks for any Help
