SKYBOX F3 Advice needed

Hello, my first post so pls forgive me for any mistakes. I have to say this is the most helful forum I have come across to do with Digital Tv aswell as other things. Thank you to the people have that have set it up and thanks to all the members for their advice and help. Anway before I get accused of being a bit of suck up I brought a skybox F3 for ?150 (yea go on have a laugh) I wish I did some reading before never mind live and learn. Everything was preinstalled and I would like to know if I need to do anything else. I dont want to regret this purchase even more as this box could have been lying around for months with a really old Cline thats about to expire. This is my first box and I am pleased with the quality but what i would like advice on is....

The software loaded on the box is 3601HD_31_10_2012_0B39. Is this an old firmware/software? and if it is can you please point me to the new one. Also who releases newer versions of the software or is it more like homebrew where anyone can create it.

How can I tell what channel list has been loaded onto the box? I can see that a few memebers have kindly created their own more easy to use versions. Do these new channel listings give you more channels or is that dependant on what satailte you are connected to?

What on earth is Scooby Snacks? excuse my ignorance.

Finaly How can I tell when the Cline loaded onto the box will expire? I can see the CCcam file in the CCcam client setup it has the gree tick and is online. But when it expires where can I get a new one, there are so many options for this and I really dont want to make another mistake and pay over the odds for something.

Im sorry for all these questions but I really would like to understand this a bit more.

If your firmware is working ok then best advice is to leave it alone.

Other channel lists are basically the same channels put into different orders.

Not sure on scooby snacks to be honest, i think it is just latest firmware and a channel list combined all in one, but if your box is working and your happy with it then leave alone.

Person you got your box from should be in touch about when your "gift" runs out, otherwise google is your friend as there are plenty of providers out there

I am thinking about buying a Skybox F3 to replace my old Technomate 6900HD Non-super. Just wondering what you think, is the HD picture good and how easy is the set up.

had the same prob when fiddling with resoulution. just connect your TV to the CVBS line to see the skybox menus and select a working setting.

hi i had this problem before but i went on to you tube and it shows you how to do things the easy way in youtube just put skyboxf3 hd how to thats it and you will see a lot of small video clips hope this helps.
