    F3 rebooting problems

    Hi guys,

Just wanted some advice to help a friend.

He experienced some rebooting problems with F3, so updated new firmware including new firmware dated 25/1. Rebooting issue was still not resolved so he managed to go back to supplier to get a new F3 box. After a few hours of running his new box, he has noticed similar rebooting issues, any advice?

Sorry wanted to clarify the box just turns itself off whilst he is watching tv and then reboots back on, this normally happens every 30 mins, as I mentioned this is the second skybox f3 he is having a problem with. He yesterday tried using another server cline. But this made no difference. It crashes on no particular channel. I have asked to may be try using another channel list instead of AJ or swap the box around with another friends to see that it may not be a router issue.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

it wont be a router issus or server issue, they wouldnt make the box just shut down.

i would start with deleting the firmware, stick the latest on, there is a few links on here

Sometimes these boxes can be a bit funny upgrading over the top of previous config & installed files, so sometimes its best to first wipe it clean, then upgrade..

            1. Delete channel list on the box, reboot
            2. Restore Factory Defaults, reboot
            3. Put latest firmware on
            3. Apply appropriate network settings
            4. Put the lion on the box
            5. Put latest AJ's channel list on the box
            6. Reboot box

Do it in that order then hopefully it should fine..

Thanks for the advice, I will help him try this sometime this weekend, at what stage would you need to do a scan for channels?

You dont need to scan for channels if you put AJ's channel list onto the box...

                    f3 rebooting problems

I had same issues, would re-boot every 30 mins or so.
Installed older firmware (Next generation) which does not have youtube and everything A ok since..I was told you tube hoggs what limited memory these boxes have on board, causing the reboots.. Worked for me, worth a try?

Sorry mate, do you mean you had similar problem and you simply changed the tv resolution setting to 1080-50 then things went fine?

I had the same prob even after wiping and reflashing etc so i went back to the supplier who sent me a new motherboard swapped them and now working perfect.
