Youtube is work in progress. The Youtube function was added to the firmware a while back, but has never functioned properly for it to be usable, and a couple of firmware updates since and Youtube is still hopeless.. Hopefully sometime a firmware update will arrive that makes Youtube usable, although it might not. Essentially the box is a just cheap satellite receiver good for watching TV, its never ever going to be good media player.
