Hi there.. Just wondering can anyone help me.. I have an f5 box and cannot receive some hd channels. Most of them work and have around 75% signal. Initially thought they were scrabbled but tried my box in s friends house and they worked... Read somewhere that the lnb skew may be incorrect, is this true.? I'm not sure it is as the signal reads about 85-90% on my s*y+ box and quality is the same..
Some hd channels

What is the strength & quality reading on the f5 box for HD channels that don't work?Hi there.. Just wondering can anyone help me.. I have an f5 box and cannot receive some hd channels. What message do you get on screen on a channel that doesn't work?Comment

Hi there. Thanks for replying. Off the top of my head I think that the signal is at around 75% for the channels that work and around 7% for those that don't. When the channel is not working it displays no signal.. Do I have to rescan to get some of the channels with low signal to work?Comment

I would start with dish alignment check the lnb and make sure all connections are tight and dry.

There is just a straight cable from the lnb to the sky box. Just took one of the cables from sky+ box...Comment

Could the skew be the difference in having perfect sd channels and only some hd channels? The signal strength and quality are at around 80-90% by looking at the sky+ signal test. In my friends house which my box and all the hd stations work his signal wouldn't be as strong as mine. Think his skew is 2 and mine is 3...Comment

If the channels that don't work on your box work at your friends house, then that points to a problem with your dish/LNB/wiring setup.
You mention that you have a Sky+ box. Do the channels that don't work with your f5 box work on that?Last edited by Hadron; 5 February, 2013, 15:06.Comment

It's always worth tweaking the skew as part of the dish alignment. Try it & see.Could the skew be the difference in having perfect sd channels and only some hd channels? Every channel works on the sky+ box but it is not the hd version.. Only the hd stations are having problems on the skybox f5Comment

Hi there. I think it must be a problem with my dish as the exact same box works in friends house without changing any settings... Every single station works..Comment
