Urgent Help Needed! Lost Channels

My mum bought a Skybox F3 with 12 month free gift from eBay. I tried to set it up but it wasn't accepting my WEP password for the wifi dongle [It kept saying 5 or 13 ascii when I tried to connect]. I looked online and saw people talking about fixes with new firmwares, being a complete noob I just went ahead, downloaded the latest firmware and put it onto the skybox. I then lost all of my channels and now I don't have a clue what to do.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Well thats anyones guess if they will or wont...... you wont know till you try. Golden rule always backup before messing with box.
