skybox f5 bricked again

after my first skybox f5 bricked its self the replacement one has done the same thing are these boxes dodgy was adding 19 east to satellites it searched the channels finished it search 100 percent went to press OK and it froze done nothing so turned box off by removing power cord as there's no switch on these boxes plugged it back in box is dead i know there's power as vonet is lighting up and Ethernet is still talking but no display and nothing on tv any ideas

Did you solve this, i got 3 f5's the other day; 2 for friends and 1 for my bedroom, i have just done a scan of 28.2e and exactly the same as above has happend, the ****er did it's scan and cam up saying complete'press yes' and that was as far as it would go, i pressed allsorts but it was froze, i unplugged the power supply and plugged it back in, and nothing... not a sausage.
This is the 1st time i have tried the f5's.. used plenty of s9's and f3's never a problem.. i'm thinking of taking all 3 back to my supplier and getting them exchanged for f3's 1st thing monday morning.

The reason i did a scan in the 1st place was my mate was watching ssnews and scrolled through a few channels, went back ssnews and it was scrambled and only came back on after a reboot.. i tried it on mine and it did the same, ssnews scrambled..

Has anyone else had the same trouble when doing a scan or are we just the unluky 2

check your dish settings on your f5 before doing a scan. motors off, lnb settings correct ect. it happened to me but i was lucky came back on. i was looking through dish settings i noticed wrong settings motor on port assigned ect. put everything how it should be set did a scan with no problems. worth checking the settings prior to blind scanning as some channel list downloads have different dish settings to that paticular person who uploaded it.

Dish is reet mate, fit by sly not long back and have been using it with an f3 in daughters room and and various boxes in my bedroom, the channel list is the same on her box as i put on the f5's and an s9.. I think it is more something blowing inside the box now; must be down to very cheap and nasty parts inside them
